Arshad R. Muzaffar, MD

Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons

Dr. Muzaffar believes that aesthetic surgery should be considered just as seriously as any other type of surgical or medical intervention. Aesthetic surgery is “real” surgery, with real potential risks and complications. As such, it is important that your aesthetic surgeon be both a good physician and extremely well-trained.

After attending Stanford University and the Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Muzaffar trained in Plastic Surgery in the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Department of Plastic Surgery. There, he worked with many widely-recognized authorities in aesthetic surgery. He has authored many book chapters and peer-reviewed articles dealing with aesthetic surgery, particularly rhinoplasty. Following his Plastic Surgery residency, Dr. Muzaffar undertook fellowship training in hand and microsurgery, as well as in craniofacial surgery.

Experience Matters

As the Director of Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Missouri, Dr. Muzaffar performs complex reconstructive surgery of cranial and facial defects. Thus, while he is thoroughly trained in all aspects of aesthetic surgery, his special area of expertise is in facial aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Muzaffar has earned many awards and recognitions in Plastic Surgery and is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He is dedicated to advancing the art and science of Plastic Surgery as an academic plastic surgeon. Among his other duties, he is the Editor of the Cleft-Palate Craniofacial Journal and is actively involved in training residents and medical students and in research.
