Lip Augmentation

The surgical treatment of thin lips is a procedure frequently performed by plastic surgeons. There are many different techniques for lip augmentation.

With aging, the lips can gradually become thin and less prominent. Various materials can be injected into the lips to make them thicker, fuller, and more prominent. Fat that is harvested from the patient's own body can be used to perform lip augmentation. Alternatively, there are a variety of "off-the-shelf" fillers, such as the hyaluronic acid-based fillers, that can be used to perform lip augmentation. Dr. Muzaffar can discuss with you the pros and cons of the different materials and help you decide how you would like to have your lip augmentation done.

In addition to thinning of the lips, vertical lines or wrinkles can form around the mouth, particularly in the upper lip. These lines can also be improved by various techniques, such as dermabrasion, chemical peeling, and injection of fillers.

Dr. Muzaffar will perform a full evaluation and analysis of your face and explain your options for treatment.
